WHY YOU NEED IT

If someone doesn’t know you, it’s VERY unlikely that they’ll buy a $300 service package from you!

BUT if you offer a $25-50 consultation…THAT is a much easier pill to swallow!

The point of your consultation is to offer something USEFUL for very little money.

Here’s an example:

Let’s say I’m offering a “Get Organized with me in 30 Minutes Consultation”

When someone buys a 30-minute session with me, my job is to ask questions and get to the root of their problem.

Then I will use a TEMPLATE (that I already created, by the way…And one that I’ll use over and over for all my consultations!)…ANYWAY, I’ll use my TEMPLATE to insert and organize their tasks.

This is a process the customer and I will do together, during our video call.

Once the template is filled with my customer’s tasks, they’ll have a CLEAR to-do list sitting in front of them!

We will then eliminate about HALF their tasks (most people waste about 80% of their time, so this will be easy).

By the end of the call, the customer feels like I LIGHTENED their load immensely, and they have an organized list of what to do when!

AND NOW IS WHEN THE MAGIC HAPPENS…

At the end of this call, I don’t just want to thank the customer and say goodbye.

The end of a call is the PERFECT TIME for me to say…

“If you want me to ASSIST you in getting this new to-do list done over the next month…I have a ‘VIRTUAL ASSISTANT’ package that gives you 20 hours a month for $300. Would you like me to send it to you?”

⇡ THAT is called the “upsell”…And once someone has a GOOD EXPERIENCE with you on a consultation, the upsell will become IRRESISTIBLE to them!!

HERE ARE SOME CONSULTATION IDEAS

Many customers aren’t SURE what they need. That’s where consultations come in! You can do these easily (all you need is a free video call software like whereby.com or google hangouts).

Customers can use Tribehire to book a time that works for you AUTOMATICALLY — so consultations just require you to send a link to them before your meeting!

  1. Shop Critiques (sellers especially like this if you sell what they do. So jewelry sellers want to talk to bigger jewelry sellers, etc)

STEP TWO

Create your UPSELL Listing!

This is the listing you are OFFERING people after your initial consultation.

It’s a more expensive listing that allows you to do something FOR the customer, instead of WITH them.

There are a TON of ideas (101, to be exact!) for upsell listings here.

Great Upsell Listings Have Three THINGS:

1. The ability to be bought over and over on a MONTHLY basis (because you want income every month!)

2. A few different packages – if you’re offering “virtual assistant” hours, try to create 3 different packages. (20 hours for $300, 40 hours for $600, etc…)

3. Pictures of results or reviews – if you can offer CLEAR PROOF that you get results (even if it’s screenshots of your own accounts), that is the MOST convincing thing EVAR. Put proof in your listing photos!

STEP THREE

Add a VIDEO to your CONSULTATION Listing!

Wait…what??

A lot of people will be like “I AM SKIPPING THIS STEP, it’s too hard!!”

But that would be a HUGE mistake.

That’s because people want to CONNECT with you before they book a consultation.

If you include a video, shoppers will be *IMPRESSED*…immediately!

Think about it…Would you rather work with the seller who has a 2-paragraph description on her listing (and some photos, ok…so does everyone else…)

Or would you rather work with the seller who SHOWS you what you’re gonna get in a video…All before you even buy?

VIDEOS are a no-brainer, and you can create videos that NEVER SHOW YOUR FACE if you want.

Generating 100+ keywords (tags) for listings: Many sellers don’t know what to call their items or don’t speak English as a first language. This type of listing works very well if you can give them tags complete with data, like how popular words are or how much they sell on platforms like amazon. You can use a tool like Merchant Words to do this for you,

Done-for-you SEO: This is exactly what it sounds like. I’d suggest an initial consultation FIRST, so you can look over the shop, answer some questions and see if the seller is a good fit for you. Here are some tips to turn one idea into FIVE different listings:

✅ Try to offer DIFFERENT versions of the same thing. The key is to GET SPECIFIC! Instead of “logo design” try more detail — Like “website homepage design” and “Etsy banner design” or “Amazon shop design”, “Pinterest templates”, “Instagram video templates” etc…

✅ Try to MAKE IT SIMPLE. Instead of offering “Done-for-You Etsy Shop Setup” (which is time consuming and complex!) Offer something EASIER: “Done-for-You Etsy shop with FIVE Listings (Using Mockups)!”

✅ BE CLEAR: Use your listing to set your boundaries in advance! Instead of offering endless services like “Customer Service” be super specific so the customer KNOWS what to expect – “I’ll create snippets for you and answer convos for 1 hr per day”!
